• Strategic collaboration to support advanced digital infrastructure for commercial and business aviation in the region, and provide passengers with seamless, high-speed in-flight internet.

SCIT (Space Communications for Information Technology), a leading Saudi-based investment group pioneering Air-to-Ground (A2G) connectivity through its technology arm SKYFive Arabia, and Nokia, a global leader in connectivity for the AI era, have signed a Partnership Agreement for the supply of LTE Ground Network solutions to support A2G-based in-flight connectivity (IFC) services across the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

Under this agreement, Nokia will supply its industry-leading LTE network infrastructure, including baseband units, radio systems, and antennas, to power the ground segment of SCIT’s A2G network. The technology will form the digital backbone of the region’s first large-scale A2G connectivity system, enabling airlines to offer passengers seamless, high-speed internet access throughout all phases of flight.

“Our partnership with Nokia represents a foundational step in realizing our vision to build a world-class Air-to-Ground network across the Middle East and Africa,” said Mohamed K. Abdelrehim, CEO of SCIT Group and SkyFive Arabia. “Nokia’s advanced LTE technology and global expertise will ensure that our regional network sets new benchmarks for reliability, performance, and scalability.”

“We are proud to partner with SCIT Group to deliver the advanced LTE infrastructure that will make next-generation in-flight connectivity a reality for airlines and passengers in the region,” said Mikko Lavanti, Senior Vice President, Mobile Networks, MEA at Nokia. “Together, we will help establish a more connected and digitally enabled aviation ecosystem across the Middle East and Africa.”

This strategic collaboration reinforces both companies’ commitment to innovation, regional capability development, and sustainable aviation growth. By deploying Nokia’s trusted telecommunications solutions within SCIT’s A2G network, the partnership will enable the creation of a robust digital aviation backbone supporting both commercial and business aviation across the region.
