Cairo, 15 February 2025 — SCIT Group (Space Communications for Information Technology), a leading Saudi-based investment group, a Saudi-based technology and innovation investment group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation, Egypt’s leading independent institution for science, research, and innovation, to establish a framework for long-term collaboration in research, education, and technology development.
The MoU reflects a shared vision to foster innovation, applied research, and talent development, with a particular focus on aviation connectivity, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. This collaboration aligns with SCIT’s strategic focus on creating long-term value through investment in technology development and patent generation, in partnership with prominent academic institutions specializing in applied sciences, thereby building effective bridges between academic research and industrial needs.
Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate across several key pillars designed to bridge academia and industry. This includes providing structured internship and hands-on training opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students from Zewail City across SCIT’s operating companies, including SkyFive Arabia, SCIT’s technology subsidiary specializing in aviation and Air-to-Ground connectivity, as well as jointly organizing workshops, guest lectures, and seminars to strengthen students’ technical, research, and professional skills.
The collaboration will also focus on joint research and innovation initiatives in areas such as aviation connectivity, IoT, and digital transformation, alongside the co-development of applied research projects aimed at translating academic research into real-world technological applications. In addition, the parties will explore the establishment of a specialized research laboratory at Zewail City dedicated to innovation, intellectual property creation, and advanced technology development aligned with SCIT’s domains.
